Tidy Treasures – Joe Longbottom

This week we see hard house’s biggest grinner Joe Longbottom reveal his Tidy Treasure which is actually a guise of DJ Misjah, who also wrote he acidic acid anthem Access. Will he be playing in his set at Tidy Weekender 25..?

My Tidy Treasure is the classic hoover anthem, Dyewitness ‘Observing The Earth’ (Ian M Remix).

I first heard this track on the Insomnia Album released in September 2000. Back then I was too young to get into clubs so I used to hammer the Insomnia album out at my parents house and have mad parties when they’d go out on a weekend.

When Observing The Earth came on we’d all go mental in the living room stomping around pissing the neighbours off. It’s the track that keeps on giving. Just when you think it’s going to start to calm down, you’re thrown back into another breakdown packed out with a concoction of aggressive hoovers and stabs. It’s proper full on banging Hard House.

The first time I heard it in a club environment was Tidy 10 at Magna, it was in one of the smaller bubble/Dome rooms, I can’t remember who played it but I went completely nuts. It sounded totally different on a big rig to what it did on my parents stacker system. The kick felt like a kick in the face, the hoovers were crispier, it all just sounded amazing!

I’ll never forget hearing it for the first time in a clubbing environment. It was pure magic.
