Sam Townend – Boogie Monster (Remixes) (Untidy Trax)

So… for Untidy’s 50th release they decided to celebratre the occasion with a little competition to remix said release and here we are today… tthe remixes have been released and they certainly are hot cakes indeed!

It just so happens that both competition winners were Scottish, one is one man band, (literally), the other is a duo. The standard was extremely high and it was a tough competition but these two entrants shone through, Welcome to the Untidy fold Fletcher Kerr and Undergroove,

Fletcher’s mix retaans the original disco flavour backed with a deep and powerfull bassline and some clever percussion wizardry. He builds the disco riff nicely, cutting up as it progressees, before allowing the bassline back in. This is a great rework of the original and it bangs!

The Undergroove remix is more of a traditional Untidy affair with a familiar sounding throbber of a bassline with the disco element more at bay. You may have heard two previous release from these two on the recent Bassix album.

Remixing the original was always going to be a task but these two have nailed it, turning the original into their very own Boogie Monster!
